SoHo Announcements . . .

SoHo Celebrates The Youth In Our Community!

During our last SoHo Community Association Meeting we decided that we would like to include a section in our upcoming Community Newsletters which will highlight and celebrate the young people in our Community.

In each issue of our Newsletter we will feature a young person in SoHo who has demonstrated qualities and characteristics that we believe serve as an excellent role model for all of us in SoHo . . . young and not-so-young, alike!

If you know of somebody in our local SoHo Community who is under 18 years of age and you'd like to have featured in an upcoming newsletter, let us know by providing us with their name, appropriate contact information and the reason you think they are deserving of this recognition.

You can contact us by email at soho.london.ca@gmail.com.

Together, let's celebrate SoHo!

Christ Church Community Needs Survey

CHRIST (ANGLICAN) CHURCH, 138 Wellington Street, has created an online survey to capture feedback from the community and how the community understands Christ Church, the work that the Church does in and for the community and how the Church can work together in the community that we call home. As Christ Church plans their future your input through this survey will be most valuable.

Your participation involves responding to a few questions about your opinions of Christ Church. The survey should take about 10 minutes to complete, and all responses will remain anonymous. The survey will be active until May 30, 2012.

The survey can be found here: Christ Church Community Needs Survey

For more on the History of Christ Church in the SoHo area read the latest History article by SoHo Historian Alice Gibb entitled Christ Church: An Architectural Gem. Also visit the Christ Church website.

London's New "Neighbourgood Guide"

London Strengthening Neighbourhoods Task Force has unveiled the new NeighbourGood website that allows Londoners to share and access information about their neighbourhoods.

Features of the highly interactive website allow users to create pages that showcase their neighbourhood with a description, lists of little local gems and share neighbourhood events, celebrations, meetings and success stories.

“It’s a fun way to learn about London neighbourhoods,” said Cheryl Smith, Manager of Community Partnerships for the City of London. “It will really allow Londoners to map everything that makes their neighbourhoods unique from their favorite hole-in-the-wall restaurant to the colossal garage sale that happens every spring.”

Already SoHo is being well represented with numerous little SoHo Gems on the Guide.  Check it out, Register and create your Little Gems!
